Some of my Grandpa’s Early Inlay Pieces

Imagine my pleasant surprise yesterday when I received an envelope from my aunts with several pictures of Grandpa and some of his early wood inlay pieces.

We did not think we had photos like these, but after the family started sorting through old pictures, folks have been able to find some really nice ones.

The neat thing about these pictures is that they show some of the very first inlay Grandpa did.

Some of them, like this mirror divan, are large and quite elaborate.

If you look closely at the end table above, you can see the drawer knob is inlay too! It is interesting to note too that these early pieces all feature the Lyndaker Star.

I am truly grateful to have these pictures of Grandpa’s amazing work, especially when he was just beginning to work with wood inlay.
