About Us

What happens when you combine a family tradition of craftsmanship with upcycling?

Transformation.

The old becomes new and back again.

At Lyndaker Inlay, our primary purpose is to take solid wood furniture that may otherwise have been discarded, and give it new life, using wood inlay techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation.

While much of the wood in our inlay patterns is exotic (wood inherited from Ednor Lyndaker), we also use reclaimed wood from a variety of sources. Since wood inlay uses relatively small amounts of wood for each pattern, this serves as an additional way to use wood scraps that might otherwise have been thrown away.

And above all, we do this work in honor of our fathers and grandfathers who began this work by carrying on a wood inlay tradition that has been in our family for four generations. You can read the story at A Family Tradition.
