Wood Is Forgiving

Heirlooms broken in a fit of anger are repaired.

The pieces gathered from the tempest and kept through the years are carefully put back together with patience and glue.

Damage is sanded away and a finish is applied which while not an exact match now will over the years age until the sides of the chest are one again.

There are subtle differences from the original and the cracks of repairs, though subtle, appear along with the glow of beauty renewed.

A heart that still hurts from the incident and precious things damaged begins to heal.

There is forgiveness and a smile slowly comes to the carpenter’s face as he gently brushes away the dull past with the bright finish of today.
