My neighbor and artist friend Kathy showed me a wonderful example of handmade wood inlay.
The table is designed to be flipped over depending on what game is played. There are small drawers in the side to hold the game pieces.
I find the inserted pieces of mother of pearl particularly fetching.
This is a beautiful example of inlay from my great grandfather’s era, before the age of power machines when most if not all of the pieces were hand carved.
