Yesterday I found three small cedar chests at the thrift store. They were various souvenirs from Mississippi to California with interesting, somewhat tacky tops.

I figured they could use a little TLC so I sanded the tops in preparation for inlay.

I chose some of my most recent patterns for the tops. After allowing the glue to dry, I sanded the edges and tops. You gotta love the smell of cedar!

After filling, sanding, and finishing, I’ll add hardware. I think they will be quite nice once complete.
