In my previous post, I mentioned that I had completed two styles of letter openers, featuring antler bone and inlay.
This second style has an inlay blade and a bone handle from the above previously mentioned antler rack.
I began by sanding down an inlay piece to make the blade.
Above the red box is a brass bracelet that I found. I took a metal piece from the bracelet and attached it to the handle (on the right) using small screws and solder.
I really liked the look of silver and brass after I buffed out the imperfections. It also helped strengthen the blade which is pretty thin.
